SYCAMORE – Sycamore residents can expect a change in their customer relationship with Waste Management in 2025, Sycamore Public Works Director Matt Anderson said.
As a part of a new city agreement with Waste Management, every household in Sycamore will be given their own account number, which Anderson believes “should help” residents remedy trash pickup issues.
Anderson said that until now, residents didn’t have an individual account number. Previously, residents who’ve needed to contact Waste Management for customer support often were unable to receive support because the account was tied to the city and not the resident.
“You kept getting rerouted, and it was an issue,” Anderson said. “But hopefully it should better assist residents.”
Anderson said residents will be able to get trash pickup alerts sent to them by way of a phone application.
“I’m hopeful that that’ll be a pretty good benefit or service,” Anderson said.
