University of Illinois Extension accepting 4-H summer camp registration

POLO – The University of Illinois Extension is accepting registration for its 4-H Camp 2025 session.

The camp will be held from June 8 through June 12 at Rock River Christian Camp, 16486 Illinois Route 64, Polo.

The camp is intended for children ages eight to 14.

The camp is a five-day, four-night residential event operated by University of Illinois Extension Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties staff and Rock River Christian Camp staff. Check-in will be held from 6 to 6:30 p.m. June 8 and check-out from 6 to 6:30 p.m. June 12.

Campers can engage in activities designed to educate, entertain, and challenge. Free-choice periods will be held two to three times a day, such as swimming, shooting sports, zip-lining, arts and crafts, team-building challenges, crate stacking, and hiking. Evening activities include a game night, dance or talent show, and campfires.

4-H membership is not required to attend. Attendees will be expected to comply with the organization’s behavior standards.

The camp costs $325 for 4-H members and $375 for non-members. The prices will increase to $350 for 4-H members and $400 for non-members March 1. Camp fees must be paid in full by May 15. Boys and girls cabin slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
