Boys wrestling

2025 Loffredo Duals: At Fox Lake, DeKalb was third after beating host Grant 42-29. The Barbs also beat Lincoln-Way Central 39-34 and lost 52-17 to St. Charles East.

Jayden Bradley was one of two wrestlers to go 3-0 at 106 pounds, picking up a pin and two technical falls. Mikey Hodge was the only wrestler to win three matches at 144, including a pin in the third-place match.

Hudson Ikens was one of two wrestlers to go undefeated at 150. Jeremiah Piniera was the only wrestler at 285 to win three matches on the mat, including a pin against Lincoln-Way Central.

Polo Wrestling Invitational 2025: At Polo, three Genoa-Kingston wrestlers finished a round away from placing.

Sullivan Bresnen (106), Kaleb Lancaste (120) and Jacob Rutkowski (126) each reached the consolation semifinals.

The Cogs finished with 12.5 points and took last in the 17-team field.

Girls wrestling

2025 Conant Tournament: At Conant, Brooklyn Sheaffer won at 125 for Kaneland.

Dyani Torres was second at 135 and Sadie Kinsella was second at 190.

Boys basketball

DeKalb 48, St. Francis 35: At Hoffman Estates, the Barbs picked up the nonconference victory at NOW Arena.

Men’s basketball

Ohio 108, NIU 70: At Athens, Ohio, the Bobcats (9-6, 3-0 Mid-American Conference) shot 62% from the floor and 55% from 3-point range in the win.

Quentin Jones led the Huskies (4-11, 0-3) with 25 points, along with eight rebounds and five assists. Quaran McPherson added 14 points while James Dent Jr. and Nasir Muhammad each added a dozen.
