Squirrel Appreciation Day is Jan. 19 in DeKalb

DeKALB – The DeKalb Public Library will host a program for patrons to celebrate Squirrel Appreciation Day.

The free program will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 19 in the library’s lower-level Zimmerman Meeting Room, 309 Oak St.

Participants can embroider a fabric squirrel outline. Handouts and templates will be provided. Squirrel-themed snacks are being served. Nut-free options will be available and separated to avoid contamination. Due to limited supplies, the program is first-come, first-served.
