Sycamore wins I-8 conference meet: Monday’s Daily Chronicle sports roundup

Interstate 8 Conference meet: At Rochelle, Sycamore took first with 6,820 pins in the five-team meet. Kaneland was fifth with 6,054.

Sycamore’s Logan Jones took seventh individually. Nick Casey rolled a 1,162 series for Kaneland to take fifth with a high game of 215.

Girls basketball

DeKalb 54, Plainfield South 45: At Plainfield, the Barbs won the nonconference matchup.

Genoa-Kingston 50, Mendota 23: At Mendota, Ally Poegel scored 13 as the Cogs won for the sixth time in seven games.

Reagan Creadon had 11 and Bria Botterman had 10.

South Beloit 54, Hiawatha 28: At South Beloit, Ava Nuckles had nine to lead the Hawks. Brielle Molloy added eight points and 14 rebounds.
