Boys basketball

Genoa-Kingston 53, Harvest Christian 50: At Elgin, Marcus Johnson scored 22 points as the Cogs came back from 13 down for the win.

Nathan Kleba scored 11 and Hayden Hodgson 10 for the Cogs.

Hiawatha 54, LaMoille 51: At Kirkland, Aiden Cooper had 21 points and 21 rebounds as the Hawks (7-11, 2-4) picked up the win.

Girls basketball

Genoa-Kingston 45, Harvest Christian 40: At Elgin, the Cogs trailed most of the game until Zoe Boylen drained a 3-pointer in the fourth to put them ahead for good.

Ally Poegel scored 12 of her game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter. Boylen and Ari Rich had 10 each.

Morris 55, Sycamore 45: At Morris, Sadie Lang had 21 points in the loss.

Quinn Carrier added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Spartans.

Boys swimming

DeKalb-Sycamore 113, Sterling 51: At DeKalb, the Barbs swept the individual events and the relays.

Kevin Sullivan notched wins in the 200-yard freestyle and 100 breaststroke, Luke Oland won the 50 free and 500 free and Alex Skrzypek won the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke.

Matteo Graham won the 200 individual medley and Sean Harrleson won the 100 free.

Men’s basketball

Miami (Ohio) 84, NIU 69: At DeKalb, Quentin Jones scored 21 for the Huskies in the loss, their 11th straight against NCAA Division I opponents.

Tsvet Sotirov added a career-high 13 points, including four 3-pointers, and James Dent Jr. added 12 points for the Huskies (4-12, 0-4 Mid-American Conference).
