DeKALB – A DeKalb man has been accused of throwing bags of cat feces in people’s yards, appearing to target homes flying pro-Donald Trump flags, authorities said.

James A. Walker, 72, of DeKalb, has been charged with 13 misdemeanor counts of littering from a motor vehicle and 13 counts of disorderly conduct, according to a Thursday news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities investigated after multiple people reported that they saw the putrid plastic bags thrown out of a vehicle onto private property which had flags supporting President-elect Donald Trump.

Five homes in DeKalb, Kingston and Genoa townships were targeted with the stool-filled bags 13 times between March 2024 and Jan. 1, according to the sheriff’s office.

Three of those homes were targeted repeatedly.

“Each incident involved a vehicle driving by the house, slowing down, and throwing a plastic bag of cat feces onto the victims yard,” authorities wrote in sheriff’s office news release. “The vehicle would depart the area immediately after.”

Two vehicles associated with the littering were identified through surveillance photos and Illinois Secretary of State records, according to the sheriff’s office.

Walker, who was released with a notice to appear in DeKalb County court for the 26 charges, was identified by police after a victim captured a license plate number of the car that threw out the waste bag, authorities said.
