Kaneland wins girls bowling, NIU loses in women’s hoops

Women’s basketball

Miami (Ohio) 73, Northern Illinois 52: The Huskies (7-9, 1-4 MAC) fell behind early and couldn’t come back against the RedHawks in Mid-American Conference action.

Chelby Koker led the scoring for the Huskies with 14 points. Brooke Blumenfeld had 12 points, and Brooke Stonebraker added 11.

NIU is back in action Saturday when the Huskies travel to Bowling Green. That game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip-off.

Kaneland def. Ottawa: At Kaneland, the Knights beat the Pirates for an Interstate 8 Conference victory.
