Genoa-Kingston 52, North Boone 46: At Poplar Grove, Ally Poegel scored 29 points to become the Cogs' all-time leading scorer. She has 1,461 points for her career, surpassing Julie Galauner’s 1,440 career mark she set in 2017.

Boys bowling

Kaneland Regional: At DeKalb, Sycamore’s 6,260 was more than 200 pins better than runner-up Dixon as the Spartans won the regional behind a 1,368 from individual champ Brian Weigel.

DeKalb rolled a 5,408 as a team to take sixth, more than 200 pins behind fourth-place Yorkville in the final qualifying spot. Esteban Cardoso (1,154) and Michael Sciabaras (1,144) qualified for the sectional as individuals for the Barbs. Freshman Teddy Grych missed qualifying by nine pins with a 1,092.

Kaneland rolled a 5,112 as a team to take 11th. Ethan Bollhoffer led the way with a 1,077.

The Spartans had four bowlers in the top nine. After Weigel, Rylan Voyles rolled a 1,291 to take fourth, Spencer Malloy’s 1,244 placed him seventh, and freshman Landon Leadingham’s 1,209 put him in ninth.

Boys basketball

Hinckley-Big Rock 72, Serena 46: At Serena, Martin Ledbetter scored 25 points to lead the Royals (13-4 overall, 6-0 Little Ten).

Max Hintzsche added 14 for Hinckley-Big Rock, Jacob Orin had 10, and Luke Badal and Alex Casanas each had nine.

Indian Creek 59, Leland 43: At Leland, Payton Hueber had 14, Isaac Willis had 11 and Everett Willis and Logan Schrader had 10 each for the Timberwolves.

Genoa-Kingston 68, Stillman Valley 43: At Genoa, Hayden Hodgson scored 20 in the victory. Marcus Johnson scored 17. Nathan Kleba added 13.

Girls wrestling

Batavia tournament: At Batavia, DeKalb took fourth, and Kaneland was fifth.

Reese Zimmer took first for the Barbs at 120. Alex Gregorio-Perez (105), Lana Zimmerman (135) and Aarianna Bloyd (235) each took second. Gregorio-Perez lost 6-3 in overtime in the championship match.

Valeria Lopez took fourth at 110, Molly Kraft was fifth at 235, and Kayden Johnson was sixth at 155.

For Kaneland, Angelina Gochis (110) and Brooklyn Sheaffer (125) took first. Sadie Kinsella (190) was second, Dyani Torres (135) was third, and Caitlyn Manier was fourth (155).
