DeKALB – A DeKalb teenager was arrested Friday and charged in connection to a Jan. 11 armed robbery, police said.
The male 17-year-old was charged with felony armed robbery, felony possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a firearm and ammunition without a FOID card, both misdemeanors, according to a news release from the DeKalb Police Department.
The teenager was taken by police to River Valley Juvenile Justice Center in Joliet.
Authorities began investigating after a man reported he was robbed at gunpoint about 10:21 p.m. Jan. 11 in the 800 block of Ridge Drive, according to the release. The man described the suspect and told police some other items were stolen.
The investigation led police to a home on the city’s north side on Friday. Police searched the home with a warrant and found a stolen firearm, clothing and other items police said were used the night of the robbery. Police did not say what other items were stolen.
The teenager was arrested at the home.
