Martin Ledbetter scores 30 as Hinckley Big Rock wins: Monday’s Daily Chronicle sports roundup

Hinckley-Big Rock 76, UIC Prep 49: At Pecatonica, Martin Ledbetter had another big day. This time he went for 30 points as the Royals rolled at the Pecatonica MLK Tournament. Max Hintzsche added 19 and Luke Badal added 10 for HBR (14-6).

DeKalb 51, Batavia 43: At Moline, Davon Grant scored 15 points and grabbed 10 boards as the Barbs cruised to the win at the Moline MLK Tournament. Justin O’Neal added 13 points and seven rebounds, Sean Reynolds had 12 points and Marquise Bolden 11 for DeKalb (14-5).

Girls basketball

Conant 48, Sycamore 42: At Batavia, the Spartans fell to the Cougars as part of the Batavia MLK Showdown. Sycamore falls to 8-13 on the season and will be home Wednesday for senior night against Boylan Catholic.

Sterling 46, Kaneland 30: At Byron, Kendra Brown scored 13 points as the Knights fell at the Byron MLK Tournament. Sam Kerry added nine points for Kaneland.

Kaneland 53, Rockford Lutheran 48: At Byron, the Knights rebounded to pick up the win in their final game of the MLK Tournament. Brown and Kerry scored 12 points each and Kyra Lilly added 11 points for Kaneland (15-8).

Indian Creek 56, Earlville 29: At Earlville, Isabella Turner scored 24 points to lift the Timberwolves into the semifinals of the Little Ten Conference Tournament. Bethany Odle added 16 for IC (4-6, 3-3). The Timberwolves will face Serena in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
