The DeKalb Park District’s splash pad opened for the season this weekend, with a Welsh Park dedication ceremony and some family fun to cool off during the heat.
The splash pad is located at the newly-opened Welsh Park, 651 Russell Road, and is free and open daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is free for public use.
Welsh Park also has two pickle ball courts, two basketball courts, one with bleachers, a game area, playground, rain garden and pollinator area and two flag football fields.
The Sycamore Park District’s Splash Fountain will open Saturday, May 29. Splash Fountain is located at the park district’s Legacy Campus, 480 Airport Road in Sycamore. Enter through the Community Center.
Advance registration for 75-minute a time slot is required online at www.sycamoreparkdistrict.com. Children 11 months and younger are free. Ages 1 and older are $3 for residents and $5 for nonresidents. Children 10 and younger must be accompanied by a paying adult within the Splash Fountain gate. Registration must be completed at least one hour in advance.
