DeKalb County is in for another snowy week, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a winter weather advisory for the area and is forecasting up to 5 inches of snow between Tuesday night and Wednesday.
The advisory goes into effect at 8 p.m. Tuesday, and is expected to last through 6 p.m. Wednesday. Parts of southern central Illinois, including Will and Lee counties, could see up to a foot of snow. DeKalb County could see between one and five inches.

The advisory impacts Lee, DeKalb, Kane and northern Cook counties, and will include Dixon, DeKalb, Sycamore, Aurora, Elgin, Evanston, Des Plaines, Schaumburg, Palatine and Northbrook.
Snow is expected to start around 6 p.m. Tuesday, preceded by a chance of rain and temperatures rising above 40 by noon Tuesday.
Temperatures will drop overnight, however, to 15 degrees with wind chills as low as 1, according to the National Weather Service. The snowfall isn’t expected to exceed more than an inch Tuesday night, with the heaviest forecasted to arrive Wednesday.
There’s a 30% chance of snow Thursday morning also, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather is expected to impact travel, and drivers should plan for slippery roads which will impact commutes Tuesday night and Wednesday morning and evening.
