Vaughn: Kishwaukee United Way and DeKalb High School THRIVE Gym Rally

Kicking off 2025, Kishwaukee United Way teamed up with DeKalb High School for an electrifying gym rally designed to motivate students and staff to finish the academic school year on a high note.

This incredible event is part of Kishwaukee United Way’s 211 ‘From Survive to Thrive’ initiative, proudly supported by Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital.

The crowd was buzzing as a guest motivational speaker, life coach, and author Joshua Randolph took the stage, delivering an inspiring message that left everyone energized! With the school year wrapping up, it’s more important than ever for students to stay focused and organized to keep that momentum going and avoid burnout.

Speaker Josh Randolph inspired students to persevere and finish strong, reminding them that temporary setbacks or fatigue should never deter their belief in themselves and their life’s purpose. The atmosphere was charged with hope and excitement, empowering both students and staff alike.

In a generous gesture, Kishwaukee United Way donated two iPads to deserving students chosen by the high school to support their academic success.

Principal Donna Larson expressed gratitude for this partnership.

“We appreciate our partnership with Kishwaukee United Way; it is important for us to thrive together as a community,” Larson said. “We grow our own, and we want what’s best for our kids and the community.”
