The Kankakee County Branch of the NAACP extends its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the two young men who tragically lost their lives in the shooting incident at 1845 Pierson Parkway. We also send our heartfelt prayers for a full and speedy recovery to the individuals who were injured.
Gun violence continues to devastate families and communities across the nation, and this incident underscores the urgent need for comprehensive measures to address this epidemic. The loss of young lives to such senseless violence is unacceptable, and we must work together to ensure our communities are safe and free from the fear of gun violence.
We commend law enforcement for their swift response and ongoing investigation. We urge them to conduct a thorough and transparent inquiry to ensure justice is served. We also call on community members to come forward with any information that might assist in bringing accountability and resolution to this tragic event.
The NAACP remains committed to advocating for policies that promote public safety, reduce gun violence, and address the root causes of these tragedies. Together, we must work to build stronger, safer communities where everyone can live without fear.
Anyone with information about the shooting, please call the Kankakee Police Department at 815-933-0426.
