Manteno 68, Streator 32: The Panthers cruised to an Illinois Central Eight conference win at home on Monday for their fifth victory in a row, four of which have been in conference play. They improved to 20-4 overall and 10-1 in the ICE as they kept pace with fellow conference leaders Coal City.

Maddie Gesky and Emily Horath both posted double-doubles for Manteno, with Gesky finishing with 14 points and 12 rebounds and Horath adding 11 points and 12 rebounds. Macy Iwanus added 11 points and Bella Gigliello had nine.

Reed-Custer 34, Peotone 15: The Comets celebrated senior night on Monday with a big win over the Blue Devils in ICE play. Reed-Custer improved to 12-13 overall and 5-7 in the ICE. Peotone fell to 6-19 (3-9) with the loss.

Reed-Custer was led in scoring by Leah Grace, one of the team’s two seniors along with Cameron Wallace, with 14 points. Alyssa Wollenzien added 12 points.

No individual stats were immediately available for Peotone.

Salt Fork 44, Watseka 41: The Warriors fell on the road on Monday for their first Vermilion Valley Conference loss of the season. They fell to 22-3 overall and 8-1 in the VVC. It was their second loss in a row on the heels of a 20-game winning streak.

Megan Martin led the Warriors with 15 points in the game. Rennah Barrett and Christa Holohan added six points apiece.

Cissna Park 39, Tuscola 35: The Timberwolves got back on track with a road nonconference win on Monday after dropping two of their previous three games. They improved to 20-5 overall on the season with the win. No individual stats were immediately available.

Donovan-St. Anne 47, Gardner-South Wilmington 32: The Wildcats picked up their third win in a row on Monday, taking down the Panthers at home in a River Valley Conference contest. Donovan-St. Anne improved to 12-10 overall and 7-5 in conference play while Gardner-South Wilmington fell to 5-20 overall and 2-10 in the RVC.

For Donovan-St. Anne, Laylah Lou Walters nearly outscored the Panthers on her own with 25 points. She also had four assists and four steals. Tiffany DeYoung had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Gardner-South Wilmington was led by Grace Olsen with 18 points. Maddie Simms added six points.

Central 58, Beecher 34: The Comets bounced back after suffering their first conference loss of the year by taking down the Bobcats at home Monday in RVC play. Central improved to 17-9 overall and 12-1 in conference play while Beecher fell to 11-15 (8-6).

No individual stats were immediately available.

Grant Park 50, Grace Christian 37: The Dragons picked up a road RVC win over the Crusaders on Monday for their second win in their last three conference games. Grant Park improved to 9-12 overall and 5-8 in the RVC with the win, while Grace Christian fell to 3-10 in conference play and 4-17 overall.

Grant Park had three players score in double figures, led by Taylor Panozzo who posted a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Kennedy Marcotte added 11 points and Abi Roberts had 10.

No individual stats were immediately available for Grace Christian.

Boys Basketball

Ridgeview 71, Gardner-South Wilmington 34: The Panthers dropped a nonconference contest at home on Monday after getting outscored 49-14 in the first half. They fell to 4-20 overall on the season and have gone 3-3 over their last six games.

Cole Hampson led Gardner-South Wilmington with 12 points. Holden Grimes added seven points.
