Kankakee 75, Thornridge 32: The Kays cruised to a blowout win at home on Wednesday in Southland Athletic Conference play, extending their winning streak to a season-high 10 games. The Kays improved to 22-3 overall and 10-1 in conference play with the win.

Myair Thompson had a big night in Kankakee’s win, scoring a team-high 21 points to go with nine steals, six rebounds and four assists. Cedric Terrell III was close behind with 19 points while also having six rebounds and four assists of his own.

Kenaz Jackson had 18 points and eight rebounds while Jordan Davis posted a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Girls basketball

Beecher 73, Illinois Lutheran 27: After dropping their previous two conference games, the Bobcats bounced back at home on Wednesday to grab a big River Valley Conference win. They improved to 12-15 overall and 9-6 in the RVC with the victory.

Beecher set a new season high in points in the game, surpassing the previous total of 62 points scored in their previous matchup with Illinois Lutheran back on Jan. 6. Gianna Bonomo led the team with 13 points. Molly Vladika finished with 12 points and Ava Pattenaude had 11 points.
