Western Michigan senior guard Addison West, a 2019 Cary-Grove graduate, was named to The Associated Press All-America first team Monday.
West (6-foot-3, 305 pounds) started all 12 games during the regular season and didn’t allow any sacks for the Broncos, who averaged 29.4 points a game to lead the Mid-American Conference. West started every game for WMU since 2022 and helped produce two 1,000-yard rushers.

WMU ended the season Saturday with a 30-24 loss to South Alabama in the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl.
Last week, West was named First-Team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation. Pro Football Focus ranks him among the top offensive lineman in the country.
West led Cary-Grove to its second state title in 2018 and was a two-time Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Class 6A All-State member. Playing on the offensive and defensive line, West helped lead the Trojans to a 14-0 record in 2018, with the offense averaging more than 400 yards a game. C-G beat Crete-Monee 35-13 to win the 6A title, the team’s first championship since 2009.
