Here is the Suburban Life All-Area football team.

OFFENSE

Tyler Chambers, Lyons, senior, offensive lineman/defensive lineman: Northern Illinois recruit. Two-sport athlete. Helped offense average 6.3 yards a carry and 32.5 points a game.

Luke Doyle, Benet, junior, wide receiver: Had 53 receptions for 1,032 yards and nine touchdowns. Returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Micah Drescher, Hinsdale Central, junior, kicker/punter: Made 36 of 38 extra-point attempts, connected on three of five field-goal attempts with a long of 47 yards. Had 10 punts inside the 20-yard line with a long of 60 yards. West Suburban Silver Special Teams player of the year.

JC Hayes, Montini, senior, offensive lineman/defensive lineman: Voted Chicago Catholic League Linemen of the Year. Four-year starter on offense.

Keon Maggitt, Downers Grove South, senior, wide receiver/defensive back/returner: Tallied 700 yards receiving, seven touchdown catches, averaged 40 yards per kickoff return, three kickoff return touchdowns, averaged 14 yards per punt return, 15 tackles, two interceptions. Voted MVP of the West Suburban Gold.

Logan Malachuk, Nazareth, senior, quarterback: Completed 202 passes for 3,421 yards and 46 touchdowns with only six interceptions for a 66.0 completion rate. Capped career by leading the Roadrunners to three straight state titles. Set IHSA state records for career passing yards, most completions in a career and total yards in a career and ended third for most touchdown passes.

Bruno Massel, York, senior, quarterback: Completed 103 passes for 1,542 yards and 11 touchdowns with only three interceptions. Had 148 carries for 1,238 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Ryan McGarry, Hinsdale Central, senior, offensive lineman/defensive lineman: Voted the West Suburban Silver Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Michael O’Connell, Glenbard West, senior, offensive lineman: Northwestern recruit. First-Team All-Conference.

Joe Reiff, York, senior, offensive lineman/defensive lineman: Notre Dame recruit. Tallied 57 tackles, eight tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and 31 quarterback hurries.

Travis Stamm, Lyons, senior, wide receiver/defensive back: Illinois State recruit. Pulled in 41 catches for 601 yards and seven touchdowns. Had eight interceptions and two defensive touchdowns.

Jake Sulzberger, Lemont, senior, offensive lineman: Air Force recruit. Tallied 103 knockdowns. Allowed just two sacks.

Jaylen Torres, St. Francis, junior, offensive lineman/defensive lineman: Had 68 pancakes/knockdowns, 63 tackles and two sacks.

Zach Washington, St. Francis, junior, wide receiver: Had 32 receptions for 655 yards and nine touchdowns, five carries for 122 yards and a touchdown and 13 kickoff returns for 452 yards and three touchdowns.

Owen Yorke, Wheaton Warrenville South, junior, running back/returner: Had 217 carries for 1,254 yards and 14 touchdowns. Caught 26 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns. Had 18 kickoff returns for 199 yards.

DEFENSE

Joe Edwards, Downers Grove North, senior, defensive line/tight end: Western Illinois recruit. Had 45 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two forced fumbles. Finished with 100 yards receiving, two touchdowns.

Mason Ellens, Glenbard West, senior, defensive back/running back/returner: Iowa State recruit. Had four interceptions, two kickoff returns for touchdowns and two punt returns for touchdowns. Also had four rushing TDs and one receiving TD.

Evan Gaughan, York, senior, linebacker: Had 127 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two forced fumbles, one blocked kick.

Jake Gregorio, Downers Grove North, senior, linebacker/running back: Had 97 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, one interception, one fumble recovery, three forced fumbles. Finished with 400 yards rushing, 11 touchdowns.

Dominik Hulak, IC Catholic, senior, linebacker: Notre Dame recruit. Tallied 26 tackles, three tackles for loss, four sacks, one fumble recovery. Had 12 carries for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Co-Red Grange All-County Defensive Player of the Year.

Jeremy Johanik, Wheaton Academy, senior, linebacker/center: Wheaton College recruit. Tallied 102 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, three interceptions, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble, scored defensive TD.

Gabe Kaminski, Nazareth, senior, linebacker: Stanford recruit. Suburban Life Player of the Year. Tallied 369 tackles, 125 tackles for loss, 59 sacks and nine forced fumbles in four-year varsity career.

Nate Marshall, Fenwick, senior, defensive lineman: Michigan recruit. Tallied 78 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, forced one fumble and had one safety. Had seven receptions for 178 yards, four touchdown catches and one rushing touchdown. Chicago Catholic League White Lawless Player of the Year. All-American.

Jack Paris, Fenwick, senior, linebacker: Had 91 tackles, 55 solo, 17.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, scored one rushing touchdown.

Garrett Reese, Nazareth, senior, safety: Indiana recruit. Had 60 tackles, one tackle for loss, four interceptions, forced three fumbles and had one fumble recovery.

Tommy Thies, Fenwick, junior, defensive back: Had 85.5 tackles, 42 solo, six tackles for loss, two interceptions, 11 pass breakups, one forced fumble.

Seth Valeri, St. Francis, senior, defensive back/wide receiver: Northwestern preferred walk-on Tallied 83 tackles, three tackles for loss, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries. Had 24 carries for 194 yards and three touchdowns.
