While there was some movement at the top of some of the rankings lists in the final Coaches Poll off the season, there’s clearly little consensus among the group about which team should be at the top of each class at the end of the season.
The only No. 1 overall teams were found in Class 8A where Loyola displaced Lincoln-Way East, but there was clearly indecision amongst the group in nearly every class.
In no classification did one team receive all of the first place votes for the group. In fact, several classifications had wide disagreement.
In 8A, although Loyola took over the top overall spot, they didn’t receive the most first place votes with Lincoln-Way East taking that honor.
A whopping five teams received at least two and three first place votes in Class 7A, four different teams took top billing on ballots in 6A and the same was the case in 1A.
