After two seasons, Nick Guerrini has stepped down as the head football coach at Hall, his alma mater.
Guerrini said he resigned due to receiving a promotion to assistant general manager at the Walmart Distribution Center.
“The job unfortunately puts me in a position to be unable to retain the head coach position,” Guerrini said. “I will no longer have the time needed or availability needed to continue at a level I feel is necessary to be successful or fair to the athletes I am involved with.”
Guerrini led the Red Devils to a 1-4 record in the spring 2021 season and a 1-8 mark this fall.
“I am humbled with the opportunity that was given to me to be the head coach for the last two years and the multiple years I have been involved as an assistant,” Guerrini said. “This isn’t the end of my coaching career, but it is a necessary break at this moment in my career. I am thankful for the parents, community, Hall High School, the coaching staff and most importantly the boys I have been able to work with over the years.”
Guerrini, who scored three touchdowns as a senior in the Red Devils’ 1995 state championship game victory, said he plans to volunteer in any way needed to help the program whether it’s fundraising or coaching.
