Burlington Central Rockets high school football

Six players from the Kane County area were named to the IFHSCA 2024 All-State team, with Geneva and St. Francis having two players nominated, while Batavia, Burlington Central and St. Charles North each having one.

Players from Burlington Central, Cary-Grove, Jacobs and Prairie Ridge were named to the 2024 Illinois High School Football Coaches Association All-State first team, released Wednesday afternoon.

Talyn Taylor's 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and Owen Homewood's recovery of an ensuing onside kick in the third quarter turned the tide for Geneva, and the Vikings rode the wave to a 42-28 win over Burlington Central in the Class 6A second-round game Saturday night.
