Junior quarterback Diego Gutierrez threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for a 56-yard score, to lead Riverside-Brookfield past St. Edward 35-7.

IC Catholic and Bishop McNamara have found themselves playing for state titles on multiple occasions in recent seasons. Wheaton St. Francis and Wheaton Academy are among the other Metro Suburban teams who hope to join them.

The newly-formed Chicagoland Christian Conference, a nine-team league with six current Metro Suburban schools and three others from outside that conference will begin play in the 2023-24 school year.
