The weight of the building was the most challenging aspect of the move, said David DeVooght, a member of the family that owns DeVooght House Movers out of Valders, Wisconsin.
The house itself weighs 560 tons but with wheels, steel beams and other equipment used for the move, the weight rose to 600 tons, or 1.2 million pounds, DeVooght said.
"We've moved some historic brick houses. It's similar to that," DeVooght said. "Its just a moving-slow process." (Eric Ginnard)
