What began as a protest in front of the Kane County Courthouse in downtown Geneva late Friday afternoon turned into a march down Route 38. The protest ended at the intersection of Route 38 and Randall Road in St. Charles. The Geneva police were in front of protestors in the roadway to provide passage as they traveled down Route 38 to Randall Road. The decision to march down Route 38 was a last-minute decision. "This was not the plan, but we have enough people to do it, and we're going to do it," said organizer Gavin Singer, of Geneva. "We need as much attention as we can get around here. People around here do not want to pay attention to this. They stay neutral and people who are neutral are just as much of the problem as people who are opposing us. We need to show everybody that we care and that these are our feelings. They can't walk all over us. We will not let them take another life, another innocent life." (Eric Schelkopf)
