I went shortly before Kane County’s renewed restrictions on dining inside went into effect, so I was able to enjoy the springy booth seats and the relaxed atmosphere of a cafe where the coffeepot is always full and frequently offered. We wore masks when we weren’t eating, and our booth was spaced away from other guests. Briana’s has three locations – Batavia, South Elgin and Hanover Park – and is family owned, according to the restaurant’s website. With colder mornings ahead, there definitely will be a day when you want to stay in bed a few minutes longer. After my delicious experience, and knowing that indoor dining is suspended and likely going to affect family-owned businesses, I’d suggest calling for pickup. A takeout breakfast is practically guaranteed to brighten your morning. (Shaw Media)
