Photos: Eagle watch event packs McHenry Dam on Saturday

By 9am, the parking lot was full of spectators hoping to catch a glimpse of an eagle and many visitors had to be turned away. Additional eagle watches occured along the Fox River in Algonquin and in Carpentersville, but turnout was low in Algonquin and gunshots from local hunters may have kept eagles away from the event in Carpentersville, according to McHenry County Conservation District Education and Visitor Center Services Coordinator Kim Compton.
