Photos: U.S. 6 construction project in full swing through La Salle, Peru

Crews work in the intersection of West Street and U.S. 6 on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in Peru. A long-term construction project is in full swing involving road patching, milling and resurfacing U.S. Route 6 from La Salle to Peru. In addition to roadwork, crews are rebuilding sidewalk ramps, drainage repairs, signal improvements and install raised reflectors. The 6.4 million project is expected to be fully completed by the end of summer 2025. Motorists are advised to use caution and be aware of traffic signals through the construction zones, which may cause increased wait times.
