Photos: Work begins on interstates 39, 80 interchange

The busiest intersection in the Illinois Valley is under construction. Crews replace the off ramp southbound to Interstate 39 at the Interstate 39-Interstate 80 interchange on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024. The work will last until most of November. Workers will be patching the ramps and improving the shoulders. Traffic will be redirected to the inner-loop of the interchange during the project.
