The TRAK Machine Tools company donated two machines totaling $105,000 to the Area Career Center last fall. February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) month. The school celebrated with Spirit Week at the Lasalle Peru Area Career Center. The program helps students and staff rally around a common cause: building a sense of community and belonging. “This can strengthen school spirit and create a more cohesive environment,” said ACC Director Dr. Shane Lange. CTE is important because it offers students a unique blend of academic knowledge and practical skills, preparing them for both further education and the workforce. CTE Month showcases the programs the ACC offers and celebrates the amazing things the students and faculty are doing in their classrooms. Among activities happening this month, the ACC is promoting CTE Spirit Week dress-up days with clothing themes for each day. “Our spirit week apparel creates curiosity from the community and other students,” Lange said.
