La Salle County sheriff’s deputies issued 37 speeding tickets, four seat belt citations, five distracted driving tickets and 14 miscellaneous citations during holiday patrols.
The La Salle County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the Illinois Department of Transportation and law enforcement agencies statewide for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, targeting impaired drivers, unbuckled occupants and other traffic violations from Dec. 13 through Jan. 2.
The enforcement initiative, administered by IDOT and funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, underscores the collective commitment to safer roads, particularly during high-risk times such as the holidays.
“This effort isn’t just about enforcement,” Sheriff Adam Diss said in a news release. “It’s about protecting lives and ensuring every celebration ends safely for everyone.”
