Andy Medina chosen by L-P faculty

LaSalle-Peru Township High School senior Andy Medina was named the 2024-2025 Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Citizenship Award winner, Director of Communication Matt Baker said in a Monday news release.

La Salle-Peru High School senior Andy Medina was named the 2024-2025 Sons of the American Revolution Citizenship Award winner.

Baker said the award is presented to a senior based on the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism to an outstanding degree, according to an L-P news release. Medina was chosen for this honor by the L-P faculty. Medina is the son of Jose and Estela Medina of La Salle.

“Andy Medina is very deserving of this award. He is an honest, hardworking and respectful young man,” L-P Counselor David Spudic said in the news release. “This can be seen through his accomplishments in the classroom, on the football field and on the track. He is a great role model and leader for his peers and teammates.”

Medina is involved in many athletics and activities at LPHS, including football, basketball and track, Harbor Homeroom, Link Crew and Senior Board.

As for his future plans, Medina plans to further his education by studying criminal justice at a four-year college, where he will also play football.
