Leland teacher receives Q Hit Music’s December Teacher of the Year honor

Leland Elementary School teacher Whitney Hart was named a finalist for Q Hit Music’s December Teacher of the Year.

Hart, who teaches third grade, now is qualified to be the teacher of the year in May and win a $1,000 check from Schweickert, Ganassin, Krzak, Rundio Injury attorneys.

“Mrs. Hart is not just a great teacher, she is astounding,” according to Hart’s nomination. “She goes above and beyond to follow up with every student in their own way. She has taught two of my sons, and both are unique and different in their way of learning, and she has done nothing but go above and beyond for both of them, whether it’s helping them through emotional moments or teaching a lesson. Her care and thought into each child should never go unnoticed, and I wish I could nominate her year after year because even then wouldn’t be enough appreciation.”
