Flanagan-Cornell/Woodland 64, Fieldcrest 63 (OT): At El Paso, the 11th-seeded Falcons outscored the No. 6-seeded Knights 7-6 in the extra session to advance in the 44th McLean County/Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Flanagan-Cornell/Woodland, which was led by 23 points, 11 rebounds and five assists from Ella Derossett, followed by Audrey Edens (15 points), Kora Edens (10) and Emma Palaschak (nine), will now play No. 3 Gibson City/Melvin/Sibley at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Eureka College.

Pru Mangan had 25 points, Macy Gochanour 22 and TeriLynn Timmerman 14 for Fieldcrest.

Seneca 48, Putnam County 20: At Roanoke, the top-seeded Fighting Irish led the No. 8-seeded Panthers 9-2 after one and 17-3 at halftime in the opening round win at the Tri-County Conference Tournament.

Alyssa Zellers led Seneca (16-5) with 12 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Graysen Provance also sank three 3s for nine points, while Evelyn O’Connor had seven points and Emma Mino six.

The Irish now plays St. Bede in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Marquette 51, Midland 36: At Roanoke, the No. 3 Crusaders topped the No. 6 Timberwolves to advance to Monday’s 6:45 p.m. semifinal at the TCC Tournament.

Girls wrestling

Streator’s Yacko claims title at Canton: At the Canton Invitational, the Bulldogs Addison Yacko won her third title of the season, going 2-0 and winning the 105-pound bracket.

Also for Streator, Payton Henson was runner-up at 115, going 2-1 and earning both wins by fall. Lily Gwaltney finished third at 112, going 2-1 and earning both wins by technical fall. Lailah Vaughn finished fifth at 120, going 4-1 and earning all her wins by pin.

Ottawa’s Juliana Thrush placed second at 235, Ava Weatherford fourth at 140, while Isabel Gwaltney (105), Savannah Frederickson (110) and Alivia Butler all placed sixth.

Somonauk’s Donahue runner-up at Oswego: At the Oswego East Tournament, Somonauk’s Rylie Donahue placed second at 125.

Sandwich’s Abigail Channell finished fourth at 105 and Lydia Cartwright fifth at 110.

Boys wrestling

Seneca’s Terry, Sandwich’s Corder earn titles at Reed-Custer: At Braidwood, Seneca’s Raiden Terry at 106 pounds and Sandwich’s Cooper Corder at 144 each claimed championships at the Comet Classic.

Sandwich finished sixth as a team, followed by Seneca (eighth), Marquette (13th) and Ottawa (20th) of the 27 competing squads.

Also for the Indians, Joshua Kotalik (150), Kai Kern (175) and Devon Blanchard (215) placed fourth, Josh Lehman (157) fifth and Jaxson Blanchard (138) sixth.

For the Irish, Avery Phillps (138) and Jeremy Gagnon (285) finished third, and Alex Gagnon sixth.

Reily Leifheit (165) placed third, Koby Clark (120) fourth and Brysen Manly (150) sixth for Marquette, while Ottawa Wes Weatherford (190) finished fifth.

Streator’s Flores and Radke finish 6th at Kewanee: At the Kewanee Invitational, Sebastian Flores (120) and Aydan Radke (215) both placed sixth in their respective brackets.

Boys basketball

Hall 55, Serena 45: At Serena, the Huskers dropped to 11-10 with the loss to the Red Devils.

Payton Twait led Serena with 20 points, while Beau Raikes added 12.

Dee-Mack 53, Flanagan-Cornell 52: At El Paso, the No. 7-seeded Falcons led 19-12 after one quarter, 31-21 at halftime and 41-33 after three before the No. 10-seeded Chiefs used a 20-11 fourth-quarter advantage to advance at the 113th McLean County/Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament.

Logan Ruddy scored a game-high 21 points for Flanagan-Cornell, with Connor Reed adding 13, and Seth Jones and Mason Rich 10 and eight, respectively.

Newark 67, Marquette 55: At Bader Gym, the Norsemen earned the victory over the host Crusaders.

Girls bowling

Streator places 9th at Morris: At Echo Lanes in Morris, the Bulldogs scored a 4,498 to finish ninth of the 20 teams at the Charlie Butterfield Invite.

Streator was led by Madi Bedeker (1,004 six-game series, 210 high game), Lyla Gengler (896, 168), Jenna Onasch (889, 183), Lisa Lopez (858, 187) and Kaitlyn Pettyjohn (851, 168).
