Streator 61, Herscher 29: At Pops Dale Gym, the Bulldogs — who held a 38-16 second half margin — improved to 8-0 in Illinois Central Eight Conference action and 15-4 overall with the win over the Tigers.

Nolan Lukach had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Streator. Layzeric Moton added 10 points and Jacob Hagie eight points for the hosts.

Sandwich 53, Woodstock North 37: At Woodstock, the Indians improved to 11-10 overall and 4-2 in Kishwaukee River Conference play with the win over the Thunder.

Sandwich was led by Nick Michalek (18 points), Brady Behringer (12 points), Dom Rome (eight points, seven rebounds), Quinn Rome (seven points) and Simeion Harris (five points, six rebounds, four assists)

Yorkville 93, Newark 55: At Yorkville, the Norsemen (12-9) fell against the host Foxes.

Newark was led by Dylan Long (28 points, seven rebounds, six assists), Payton Wills (nine points, three rebounds), Cody Kulbartz (seven points, four rebounds, three blocks) and Reggie Chapman (six points, six assists).

Girls basketball

Fieldcrest 50, El Paso-Gridley 43: At Minonk, the Knights trailed by nine at halftime but used a 17-4 run in the third quarter to eventually defeat the Titans in the consolation semifinals of the McLean County/Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament.

TeriLynn Timmerman led Fieldcrest (11-10) with 19 points with Macy Gochanour adding 18 points and Pru Mangan nine points and nine rebounds.

The Knights play Fisher for the consolation title at 10 a.m. on Saturday at El-Paso.
