Bureau Valley Walnut Elementary students are embracing their school motto of Unity, Excellence and Pride with a special collaborative art project.
All kindergarten through fifth grade visual arts students have contributed to creating canvas artworks that showcase their creativity and teamwork.
The completed art pieces will be displayed from Feb. 1-7 at the Walnut Public Library, 101 Heaton St., allowing the community to admire the students' efforts and talents.
The artwork will be displayed at a silent auction during the Walnut Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon, Feb. 9, with bidding concluding at 11:30 a.m. The breakfast will feature pancakes and sausage served for a donation. Funds raised from the silent auction will be donated to fire relief efforts in California.
The Walnut Fire Department has faced an increase in home fire responses over the past year and needs more volunteers to ensure it can continue responding to community needs effectively. This event offers an opportunity for the community to show support for these first responders while celebrating the artistic achievements of Bureau Valley Walnut Elementary students.
