BOYS BOWLING
At Rochelle: La Salle-Peru’s Zach Quick rolled a 1,307 six-game series Monday to win the individual title at the Interstate 8 Conference Tournament at T-Byrd Lanes.
Quick’s performance helped the Cavaliers placed second as a team with 6,727 pins, less than 100 pins behind champion Sycamore (6,820).
Also for L-P, Emerson Vasquez (1,110), Marquis Lorenzi (1,110) and Grady Sandor (1,092) finished 10-11-12 individually and Aiden McCray (1,072) was 17th and Andrew Olivero (1,036) was 22nd.
At Savoy: Mendota placed sixth in the Brian Hodge Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
Paxton Bauer led the way for the Trojans as he finished fifth with a 1,368 six-game series, while Alex Holland finished 13th (1,294) and Kooper Novak took 22nd (1,163).
GIRLS BOWLING
La Salle-Peru 3,353, Kaneland 2,579: Anna Ricci bowled a 625 series as the Cavaliers stayed undefeated in Interstate 8 Conference play with a victory in DeKalb.
Kaitlyn Miller rolled a 622 series for L-P, while Camryn Perra had a 599 series.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Fieldcrest 50, Roanoke-Benson 39: Jordan Heider and Kash Klendworth each scored 14 points as the Knights earned a nonconference victory in Minonk.
Eddie Lorton added 12 points for Fieldcrest (12-3).
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Earlville 48, Newark 36: Natalie Hall scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds to help the Red Raiders to a Little Ten Conference victory in Earlville.
Audrey Scherer had seven points and 12 rebounds for Earlville, while Bailey Miller chipped in six points and 17 boards.
Marquette 56, St. Bede 45: Lili McClain scored 15 points as the Bruins fell in a Tri-County Conference game in Ottawa.
Ashlyn Ehm had 12 points for St. Bede, while Savannah Bray added 10.
Midland 59, Putnam County 43: Addy Leatherman scored 18 points as the Panthers lost a Tri-County Conference game in Varna.
Eme Bouxsein had 13 points for PC, while Maggie Spratt contributed 12 points.
Genoa-Kingston 50, Mendota 23: Cassie Gonzalez had seven points, six rebounds and a block as the Trojans lost a nonconference game in Mendota.
Ava Eddy added six points, five steals and three rebounds for Mendota.
Knoxville 54, Bureau Valley 38: The Storm were outscored 25-8 in the second half in a Lincoln Trail Conference loss in Knoxville.
Brooke Helms led BV with nine points.
BOYS SWIMMING
At Peoria: The La Salle-Peru co-op finished second in two events Saturday as the Cavaliers placed third in the Ram Relays.
L-P’s Caleb Strand and Brian Lowery finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2x100) in 2:06.53, while Bo Weitl and Jonathan Neu were runners-up in the 200 backstroke relay in 1:59.41.
BOYS WRESTLING
At Morris: St. Bede went 2-2 in duals Saturday, beating Bradley-Bourbonnais (42-26) and Rantoul (40-30) while losing to Yorkville (58-18) and Morris (58-24).
Garrett Connelly recorded four pins at 190 pounds for the Bruins, while Max Moreno (126), Andre Pineda (157) and William Sramek (215) each winning twice by fall.
Also for St. Bede, Jack Maschmann (175) won by fall against Bradley-Bourbonnais and Grady Gillan (215) won by major decision against Rantoul.
