St. Bede 46, Dwight 39: The No. 4-seeded Bruins topped the No. 5 Trojans in the first round of the Tri-County Conference Tournament in Roanoke.
Seneca 49, Putnam County 20: The No. 8 Panthers lost to the No. 1 Fighting Irish in the opening round of the Tri-County Conference Tournament in Roanoke.
Roanoke-Benson 54, Henry-Senachwine 20: Kaitlyn Anderson had 13 points, three rebounds and two steals as the No. 7-seeded Mallards lost to the No. 2 Rockets in a Tri-County Conference Tournament quarterfinal in Roanoke.
At Byron: Hall split a pair of games at the Byron MLK Shootout, beating Harlem 55-44 before losing to Rockford Lutheran 68-54.
Against Harlem, Ella Sterling scored 17 points to lead the Red Devils, while Charlie Pellegrini had 12 and Kennedy Wozniak chipped in 11 and Caroline Morris added 10.
Sterling scored 14 against Lutheran with Pellegrini (12), Morris (11) and Natalia Zamora (10) also scoring in double figures.
Bureau Valley 52, West Central 41: The Storm drained 12 3-pointers in a Lincoln Trail Conference victory in Biggsville.
Bureau Valley outscored the Heat 36-11 in the second and third quarters.
Emma Mussche and Brooke Helms scored nine points each for the Storm, while Bella Birkey added eight points.
Sycamore 49, La Salle-Peru 48: Brie Ruppert scored 12 points and grabbed 17 rebounds as the Cavaliers came up short in an Interstate 8 Conference game in Sycamore.
Kelsey Frederick had 11 points for L-P, while Drew Depenbrock contributed seven points.
Flanagan-Cornell 64, Fieldcrest 63 (OT): Pru Mangan scored 25 points as the No. 6-seeded Knights were upset by the No. 11 Falcons in the first round of the McClean County/Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament.
Macy Gochanour had 22 points for Fieldcrest, while TeriLynn Timmerman added 14.
GIRLS BOWLING
At Morris: Camryn Perra had a six-game average of 216.2 to win the individual title at the Charles Butterfield Invitational.
Perra’s performance led the Cavaliers to a second-place finish with 5,726 pins.
Also for L-P, Anna Ricca finished fourth with a 198.2 average, Kamryn Oscepinski was 10th with a 189.7 average and Leah Ricci was 17th with a 184 average.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Hall 55, Serena 45: The Red Devils earned a nonconference victory in Serena.
Washington 49, La Salle-Peru 39: The Cavaliers dropped a nonconference game at home.
Midland 54, LaMoille 49: Tyler Billhorn had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds in a nonconference loss in LaMoille.
Bloomington Central Catholic 74, Princeton 57: The Tigers lost in the Bloomington Central Catholic MLK Shootout.
WRESTLING
At Kewanee: St. Bede had six wrestlers place to help the Bruins finish fifth at the Kewanee Invitational.
The host Boilermakers won with 237.5 points. St. Bede (120) was fifth, Mendota (56) was 13th and Putnam County-Hall (28) was 15th.
Michael Benge (113 pounds), Max Moreno (126) and Garrett Connelly (190) took third, Jameson Daley (106) and Grady Gillan (215) finished fourth and Jack Maschmann (175) was fifth.
Mendota’s Angil Serrano was runner-up at 285, losing by 4-3 decision in the final. Also for the Trojans, Gavin Stevenson (120) placed third and Gavin Evans (157) finished sixth.
Elijah Leota was PC-Hall’s lone placer as he took fifth at 285.
At Princeton: Princeton split a pair of duals, losing to Coal City 54-17 and beating Dakota 63-16.
