The City of St. Charles' facilities will be open on select hours through the end of the year.
Holiday office hours and collection schedules are as follows:
City Offices
City offices will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 as well as Jan. 1, 2025.
Refuse Collection
There will be no change to the garbage and recycling pickup schedule.
Christmas Tree Pick Up
Christmas trees will be picked up the weeks of Jan. 6 & Jan. 13, 2025. Trees will be collected on both sides of the river on refuse collection day. No sticker is needed.
All decorations including tinsel should be removed, and trees should not be placed in disposal bags. Stickers will be required for tree pick up after Jan 17.
Holiday Lights Recycling
St. Charles residents and businesses can drop off holiday lights, regardless of condition, and extension cords to be recycled until Jan. 17, 2025.
Pre-lit garland, wreaths, trees, ornaments and lighted lawn decorations will not be accepted.
Holiday light recycling drop off is available at the following locations and times:
- St. Charles Public Works Department - 1405 S. Seventh Ave.
Weekdays: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- St. Charles Municipal Building - 2 E. Main St.
Weekdays: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- St. Charles Public Library - 1 S. Sixth Ave.
Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: noon to 5 p.m.
- Pottawatomie Community Center - 8 North Ave.
Weekdays: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Wasco Nursery - 41W781 Route 64
Monday - Saturday (closed on Tuesday and Wednesday): 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
