St. Charles Chamber of Commerce welcomes new director

The St. Charles Chamber of Commerce welcomed Rebecca “Becky” Greenlee as their new executive director.

The chamber’s board of directors has been searching for an executive director since former director Deborah Gurley’s retirement in October. The new hire was announced in a news release from the board of directors.

Greenlee’s first day was Jan. 6. She is a resident of Burlington and has more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, most notably with the Grand Victoria Foundation in Elgin and the Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois.

In her most recent role, Greenlee served as the first Executive Director of the Kaneland Foundation where she grew charitable donations by more than 150%, according to the release.

Chamber members are encouraged to stop by and welcome Greenlee as she gets acclimated to the city in the coming weeks.

The chamber also plans to hold two virtual town hall meetings in the near future as an introduction to the chamber members and provide updates on recent progress. More information on those meetings will be announced in upcoming emails from the chamber.

“As we start 2025, the board is incredibly excited about the Chamber’s direction and footing!” according to the release. “We hope our members share that excitement and it translates to increased and meaningful engagement.”
