‘Electronics and More’ recycling event set for Jan. 18

There will be an “Electronics and More” recycling event from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Geneva Commons, located at 602 Commons Drive, in the parking lot area of Crate and Barrel.

The County and eWorks will bring their pop-up for electronics, clothing and textiles, books and other non-sensitive papers.

The Commons is bringing a shredding truck to shred and recycle confidential papers.

There is a $25 fee for TVs and monitors less than 21 inches diagonal and $35 for TVs 21 inches and larger.

Cash and cards are accepted on site. All other recycling and shredding is free.

No business documents are permitted.

There is a limit of four bankers boxes, or an equivalent amount in other containers, per car.

Shredding will end early if the truck fills up.

No lithium batteries are allowed.

On April 19, there will be an “Electronics and More” pop-up event in celebration of Earth Day. Details are to be determined.

From 8 a.m. to noon on May 17, the Kane County Spring Shred ‘n’ More event will take place at 540 S. Randall Road in St. Charles.
From 9 a.m. to noon on June 7, there will be an “Electronics and More” pop-up in front of Ace Hardware, located at 994 N. Lake St. in Aurora.
From 8 a.m. to noon on July 19, the Kane County Recycling Extravaganza! will take place at 540 S. Randall Road in St. Charles.
