Discover nearby gardens with expert gardeners at St. Charles Library

The Friends of St. Charles Public Library will hold a used magazine and children’s book sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 7 in the Huntley Community Room.

The St. Charles Public Library will host “10 Gardens within Six Hours of Home” at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, in the library’s Huntley Community Room.

The program will feature discussions on Chicago Botanic Gardens, Meijer Gardens and Reiman Gardens, among others.

Brock and Ruth Ann Seney will lead the discussions of the gardens.

The Seneys are avid travelers and have been visiting gardens wherever they go.

Ruth Ann has been gardening since she was a child. She is a Master Gardener with the University of Illinois Master Gardeners program.

Brock has taken classes at Chicago Botanical Gardens.

Before retirement, both were high school teachers.
