St. Charles residents are invited to attend a library visit and presentation from an Abraham Lincoln impersonator.

The presentation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Feb. 6, in the Huntley Community Room of the library at 1 S. Sixth Ave.

Abraham Lincoln impersonator Kevin Wood will present “Lincoln on Slavery, Emancipation, and Equality,” exploring how Lincoln reshaped the nation’s values through his leadership during the Civil War and his role in ending slavery.

Lincoln, as portrayed by Wood, will give a summary of the long history of slavery in North America, focusing especially on the great debates and compromises over slavery at the time of the formation of the United States and during the subsequent 80 years. He will share Lincoln’s political views on slavery and emancipation and how these gradually shifted over the years.
