Kane County Democrats host annual Truman Dinner fundraiser

Pam Davidson to be featured as keynote speaker

The Kane County Democrats will host their annual Truman Dinner Fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the Q Center, 1405 N. Fifth Ave., St. Charles, according to a news release.

The keynote speaker will be Pam Davidson, former Knox County Board Chair, current board member, and current State Central Committeewoman for the 17th Congressional District.

Davidson, of Galesburg, also attended the Democratic National Convention as a delegate for her district.

Other speakers are:

  • Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, whose office issues driver’s licenses, registers vehicles, promotes organ/tissue donations and oversees the Illinois State Library and administers literacy efforts.
  • Comptroller Susana Mendoza, who believes that residents and legislators should have a monthly accounting of the debts owed by every state agency. Since 2016, she has been responsible for introducing and getting four transparency bills passed.
  • Illinois AFL-CIO President Tim Drea. He has been president since 2019 after serving as secretary/treasurer for 12 years and legislative and political director for 11 years. He began his career as a miner for Peabody Coal and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1979.

Tickets are $130 per person and can be purchased online at SECURE.ACTBLUE.COM/DONATE/TRUMAN25, or checks can be made payable to Kane County Democrats, 473 Dunham Road, Suite 102, St. Charles, Il 60174, according to the release.

Funds raised from the ticket prices are used to support local candidates and pay office rent. Contributions are not deductible for income tax purposes.
