The eighth annual Random Acts of Kindness Week, sponsored by Random Acts Matter (RAM), is set for Feb. 17 through 23 in St. Charles.
The goal is to spread care and compassion throughout the community through random acts of kindness, both big and small.
Whether it’s holding the door for a stranger, sharing a smile, or buying coffee for someone in line, every act has the power to make a difference, according to a news release from the nonprofit.
The St. Charles City Council and Mayor Vitek showed issued a proclamation at the council’s January meeting recognizing the positive impact of these kindnesses on the community.
Each year, a variety of acts of kindness are shared during this special week. Activities include baking treats for community service workers, donating food to the Veterans Center, preparing meals for a hot breakfast at Lazarus House and volunteering at the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
Kindness rocks will be scattered around town, along with orange signs and street banners featuring messages of positivity.
