Batavia schools hosting special-education resource fair, providing services to parents and students

Over 40 community organizations partnering with the special needs event

The Batavia Special-Education Parent Network (BSPN) is hosting its annual Parent Resource Fair on Thursday, Feb. 20 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Batavia High School, 1201 Main St. Batavia.

The resource fair will showcase recreational opportunities, therapy providers, consultants, transition planning, and advocacy/support specialists available to all families of students from early childhood through age 22, according to a school release.

Admission is free and open to anyone interested in supporting and learning more about special education services in the community. BSPN has partnered with over 40 community organizations this year. A full list of partners attending the fair can be found at the BSPN website, bspn-batavia.org, according to the release.

The Batavia Special-Education Parent Network consists of parents, special education teachers, school therapists, and administrators within Batavia Public School District 101. The group is open to all members of the public.

The group serves as a support network for parents of special-education students to help share information and provide mentoring services to those who need it, according to the release.
