After finishing his junior year with a 25-1 record and his second straight second-place finish in the Class 1A state singles bracket, Marmion junior Ben Graft has been named the Kane County Chronicle boys tennis Athlete of the Year.

Hinsdale Central senior and Xavier recruit Alex Kotarski took second in Class 2A singles for the second straight year, and the Red Devils as a team won their third straight state tennis title and 28th in program history.

Tiernan Price’s tennis game was clicking on all cylinders. The St. Charles East senior was efficient in disposing of St. Charles North’s Jonathan Spicer 7-6, 6-0 in the championship match of Saturday’s Class 2A St. Charles North sectional.
