In a fantastic local battle, Lockport edged Joliet West for its third straight IHSA state bowling title, while St. Charles East's Lida Burgos won the individual title and Lani Breedlove placed seventh to lead Oswego to fifth place.

St. Charles East's Lida Burgos placed first individual at the Fenton girls bowling invite. As voted on by readers, Burgos is the Kane County Athlete of the Week, presented by Don McCue Chevrolet in St. Charles.

St. Charles East sophomore Linda Burgos bowled a 300 game on Wednesday.
