Breaking: Robert Krawczyk, husband of Kane Board Chair Corinne Pierog dies

Krawczyk had been recovering from brain surgery

Corinne Pierog was elected chairman of the Kane County Board last month.

BATAVIA – Kane County Board Chair Corinne M. Pierog announced in a news release Thursday that her husband, Robert J. Krawcyzk, passed away at their home in Batavia on Wednesday evening, Jan. 27.

Krawczyk had recently had brain surgery to remove a tumor and was home recovering.

Services will be held at Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles at a date and time yet to be decided by the Chairman and her family.

The Chairman will be out of the office until the week of Feb. 8 with an exact return date yet to be determined, the release stated.

“On behalf of the Chairman and her family, we are grateful for your prayers and thoughts,” the release stated.

Kane County board Vice-Chairman Kenneth Shepro, R-Wayne, said he informed board members individually last night and had asked that the county’s flags be flown at half-staff.
