Juan Sanchez, 23, of the 1300 block of Raymond Drive, was charged with the felony charge of reckless discharge of a weapon.

The man is being detained pending the filing of charges and his first appearance in court, where the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office intends to file a petition to deny pretrial release.

At approximately 8:45 a.m. Sunday, St. Charles police officers were dispatched to River Glen of St. Charles, located at 975 N. 5th Ave. Witnesses had reported that a shirtless man was holding a chainsaw and attempting to cut down a tree on the property, the release stated.
